Paul Rogers, a Cleveland native, produces fine art in the fashion of European
"Sunday Painters". Business-casual by day, paint mask by night, Paul creates
works by using mediums such as spray paint, acrylics, house paints, wash and
oil. The city's unsympathetic nature sparks the artist's imagination to create
intricate reflections of the people and places of the urban landscape. Finding
street art to be a primary influence adds to Paul's affability and exemption; there's
nothing to mediate - the artist is the judge and jury.
Ryan Jaenke, also a native Cleveland west-sider, grew up influenced by
skateboarding and graffiti, effectively ending a future in scholastic sports. Ryan
currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Steve's Lunch and paints in his
spare time. Ryan's paintings can be seen on brick and on gallery walls
throughout the Forest City, most notably at West 25th and Church, and local art
spaces Asterisk and 1300 Gallery. He draws inspiration from Cleveland's main
thoroughfares, storefronts, and alleyways. As a dedicated archivist of local
signage, Ryan hopes to someday complete a definitive collection of
anthropomorphic home appliances and foodstuffs.
